Fluidline’s jacketed range includes 316L bright-annealed stainless steel tube with PVC or TPU coating. Straight, coiled and cut-to-length arrangements are described in the supplied datasheet. Copper-core options are also listed, but the stainless steel core is the focus of this site.
A jacket provides an external barrier; it does not increase the pressure rating of the metal tube or make stainless steel immune to corrosion. Terminations, moisture ingress, chemical exposure and inspection access must be considered for coastal and process-plant installations.
Choose PVC or TPU for the conditions
| Consideration | Selection question |
|---|---|
| Temperature | What are the continuous process, ambient and installation temperatures? |
| External exposure | Will the jacket contact UV, salts, chemicals or abrasive surfaces? |
| Geometry | What are the finished jacket OD and permitted bend radius? |
| Support | Which clamp size supports the finished jacket without damage? |
| End connections | How will the jacket terminate while leaving the correct tube engagement? |

Frequently asked questions
Does the jacket determine the working pressure?
The metal tubing and the assembled connection system determine pressure capability. The jacket adds separate temperature, handling and environmental limits.
Can a clamp be selected from the bare tube OD?
For jacketed tubing, check the finished jacket outside diameter and the support manufacturer’s requirements. A clamp for bare tube may be unsuitable.
